Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday issued a
statement attempting to credit his administration with the COVID-19 vaccine rollout after the number of new cases in the U.S. reached its lowest point in about a year.
The seven-day average of new cases recently fell by 24% in the last week to about 25,300 per day, the lowest rate in 11 months, and the average number of deaths dropped to 552 according to CNBC. Nine states recently reported that at least 70% of their adult residents have received at least one shot: New Mexico, Vermont, Hawaii, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. About half of the U.S. has received at least one shot, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and about 39% are fully vaccinated.

Trump said in a statement that "New United States COVID cases, because of the record-breaking development of the vaccine and its early purchase and distribution by the Trump Administration, has hit its lowest level in more than one year, and falling fast."

He added, "I want to thank all within the Trump Administration who pushed so hard for a vaccine and got it done in less than nine months when everybody was saying it would take at least 3-5 years, and probably not happen. Without the vaccine the world would be a much different place right now. Thank you also to the U.S. Military for its incredible distribution and logistical planning. Operation Warp Speed and our decision to purchase billions of dollars of vaccine before it was even approved, has been ‘One of the greatest miracles of the ages,’ according to many. Thank you!"

The epidemic continues to rise, and the outside world is concerned about when the vaccine will be available. Taiwan Food and Drug Administration confirmed today (26 May) that the third batch of 410,000 doses of AZ vaccine passed the inspection and sealed at 4pm today and will be distributed to counties and cities tonight. The first 150,000 doses will be sent to Taipei and New Taipei, including those that have not been vaccinated. The first to third categories of vaccines, and the counties and cities outside both cities, the first category of personnel will be given priority.

The Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare pointed out tonight that the second batch of 409,800 doses of covi vaccine imported through the COVAX platform has been reviewed, inspected and issued a sealing certificate, and will be sent to the warehouse for inspection and release from tomorrow.

The first batch of 150,000 doses will be distributed by the Department of Disease Control and Prevention to various localities for use by frontline medical care and epidemic prevention personnel.

The Food and Drug Administration said that COVAX imported 410,000 400 doses of AZ vaccine, batch number ABX6083, and arrived in Taiwan by air from the Netherlands in the afternoon of 19 May. The Food and Drug Administration immediately cooperated with staff to supervise the unpacking and check the batch number of the vaccine at the low-temperature storage site. They checked the quantity, the cold chain of delivery, and took samples to check the appearance of the vaccine.

After the vaccine is sealed on site, the samples are brought back to the National Laboratory of Food and Drug Administration for appearance, identification, pH value, DNA/protein ratio, and bacterial content, toxins, sterility and potency tests. The Food and Drug Administration pointed out that after the FDA has simultaneously reviewed the documents and materials and passed the inspection, it has issued a sealing certificate in the evening of 26 May, and went to the storage site to check the storage temperature and batch number and dose again, and sealed it.

After the completion of the batch of vaccines, the vaccines will be handed over to the CDC for follow-up vaccination operations.

The United States supports Taiwan with vaccines? Director of AIT: Taiwan’s diagnosis rate is lower than that of the world

Editor : Zhou Zixin / Direct translation

The Taiwan epidemic is spreading but domestic vaccines are getting slow. Regarding whether the United States is likely to assist Taiwan, Li Yingjie, Director of the American Association in Taiwan (AIT), said today (26 May) that Taiwan’s past epidemic prevention measures are quite excellent. He believes Taiwan can also survive this epidemic. Taiwan has a relatively low diagnosis rate and number of people in the world, and it is still under further research.

Director of AIT Li Yingjie (Brent Christensen) delivered a resignation speech in the morning of 26 May. In response to the media's questions about the most curious vaccine issue among the Taiwanese people, will the United States provide assistance?

Li Yingjie said that Taiwan’s anti-epidemic measures in the past were quite excellent, and he believes Taiwan can also survive this epidemic. He said that Taiwan has a relatively low diagnosis rate and number of people in the world. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the United States and Taiwan have continued to cooperate in many aspects, including testing, vaccine and drug research and development.

Last Friday, US Secretary of Health Alex Azar also discussed with Chen Shizhong on the issue of providing vaccines to Taiwan, which is still being studied. Li Yingjie said that the standards for the delivery of vaccines from the United States to foreign countries are still under discussion, which includes several important factors, including the recipient’s diagnosis rate, medical capacity, vaccination ratio, and so on. He also emphasized that the United States will continue to discuss this issue closely with Taiwan. He also knows that Taiwan is developing a vaccine, which may be launched in a few months.

Li Yingjie came to Taiwan in August 2018 to serve as the director of AIT for nearly three years. In today's resignation speech, he focused on the "Four Enhancements" of Taiwan-US relations and the prospects for Taiwan-US relations during his tenure. The press conference after the speech also mentioned vaccine-related issues, indicating that the United States will continue to discuss with Taiwan.

Before Li Yingjie took over as the director of AIT, he had come to Taiwan to serve 2 times and lived in Taiwan 3 times. During Li Yingjie's tenure, Taiwan-US bilateral relations have interacted closely, which can be said to be the peak of Taiwan-US relations in recent years. In his resignation speech, Li Yingjie also reiterated the growth of the priority goals of the "Four Enhancements" promised in the past in recent years. The "Four Enhancements" are to enhance U.S.-Taiwan security cooperation, enhance U.S.-Taiwan economic and commercial relations, enhance Taiwan's role in global society, and enhance the relationship between the U.S. and Taiwanese people.

Some patients with mild covid have life-long antibodies in the bone marrow

Reporter : Yu Jingyao / Direct translation

American research team found that after mild covid patients recover, even if their antibodies in the blood decrease, they may still have long-term immunity.

A clinical experiment at the University of Washington School of Medicine found that when a patient is infected with covid, immune cells will soon secrete protective antibodies. When the immune cells die, the amount of antibodies will also decrease. Therefore, there are not many antibodies in the blood after recovery but there is a kind of immune cells that will remain in the body and transfer to the bone marrow, ready to fight the novel coronavirus.

Experts found that in some patients with mild covid, 11 months after the onset, the immune cells in their bone marrow still secrete antibodies to fight the CCP virus.

The world really sees Taiwan...Time Magazine: Two weeks to lift the level 3 "self-blowing". Primary medical care is exhausted

Reporter : Gu Shangjun / Photographer : Li Weihua / Translation, editing : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA

Taiwan has not improved for days, and the amount of medical treatment has shown a tight state. Experts urged that the rapid screening capacity must be improved as soon as possible. It is best to allow people to do basic tests at home to reduce the risk of cross-infection in the emergency room and the burden of the first-line emergency department. Time magazine reported that Taiwan was defeated by itself due to its false sense of security against epidemic prevention.

The epidemic in Taiwan is fully erupted. In addition to the rapid screening stations that are gradually being established, the emergency rooms of major hospitals are also important nodes for screening for the new coronavirus. However, medical staff usually handle ordinary patients busily, and now a large number of suspected confirmed cases of covid have flooded in for a while, which makes the emergency medical manpower quite tight.

When filming was taken, it was time to clear the emergency room of the hospital, and the fully equipped medical staff took a short time. Take a break and take a breath, but the stuffy and airtight protective gear must still be wrapped tightly.

Nurse at Northern Hospital (voice-changing treatment) said, "Because wearing protective equipment is actually time-consuming, we usually have a short break at noon throughout the day before we can change out the protective equipment to eat. That is only at this time. So we can drink water and go to the toilet, because in fact, the full set of protective equipment is full of heat, so we often get soaked all over our bodies, and because of wearing N95 masks, we even have blisters on our faces.”

The emergency room belongs to the first-level front. Every day, the hospital adjusts epidemic prevention policies and lines in response to the epidemic. Under the high pressure, the frontline doctors can only respond at any time.

Nurse at Northern Hospital (voice-changing treatment) said, "In fact, we have to adapt to different policies every day, and our psychological pressure will also be great. Because we work in the emergency department, we don’t dare to go home even on vacation, fearing that we might become an infection."

Chang Yutai, the former director of the emergency department of Heping Hospital, said, “They may still be able to support the medical institutions. If there are more, they may be squeezed and collapsed. At this time, if you are nervous, then there are no more eggs under the nest covering.”

The sudden outbreak of the epidemic caused emergency doctors to burn their lives to prevent the epidemic. It also highlighted Taiwan’s severely insufficient medical capacity. The American Time magazine reported that Taiwan’s false sense of security has caused the little teahouse in Taiwan to break the line of defense against the epidemic. Recently, Taiwanese netizens enthusiastically reposted the post of lifting the third-level alert within two weeks. The report was also evaluated as boasting. Chang Yutai, the former director of the emergency department of Heping Hospital, suggested that Taiwan should now pragmatically prevent the epidemic, by starting with basic screening.

Former Director of the Emergency Department of Heping Hospital, Zhang Yutai, said, "If quick screening can be more convenient and convenient like a pregnancy test, he can do the test at home by himself. In this way, it can reduce queues in our hospital and there will be no cross-infection problems. At present, if there are no symptoms, try to manage it at home as much as possible. If you are worried, manage it for a few days. If you really have symptoms, go to the hospital for examination."

Now the screening capacity is insufficient, and the people can only rely on self-discipline to prevent the epidemic. It is only two to three hundred confirmed cases a day in Taiwan, which is no more than tens of thousands of foreign countries. The government has called for a year’s advance deployment and medical care at critical moments. However, the manpower is stretched, and the Physician Professional Union believes that the relevant units are duty-bound.

Liao Yuwen, secretary general of the Physician Profession Union, said, "The shortage of manpower has been happening since last year. Fortunately, we did not have a so-called big outbreak last year. After the outbreak, we have seen a lot of medical staff in a situation of overwork fatigue. There are even a lot of medical staff. They are directly ordered by the hospital to cancel leaves. Therefore, the trade union is actually calling for those who should be hired and the manpower for preparing for war. In other words, the government will give more subsidies, or the hospital will have to spend more money to hire all the people who should be hired.”

While the world is gradually unblocking, Taiwan is preparing for lock down. The warning fable of the tortoise and the hare seems to be fulfilled in Taiwan.

The local government called for the opening of self-purchase. Tsai Ing-wen: The purchase of vaccines must be coordinated by the central government

Translation, editing : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA

President Tsai Ing-wen, chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party, said today that the purchase of vaccines must be coordinated by the central government and coordinated with the central government’s overall epidemic prevention strategy. Only by contacting the original manufacturer the government can only obtain the direct guarantee and responsibility of the original manufacturer to avoid legal and political risks.

In conjunction with the escalation of epidemic prevention, the DPP will conduct online video conferences today. DPP spokesperson Xie Peifen relayed Tsai Ing-wen’s speech after the meeting and pointed out that the government has actively negotiated procurement for the best vaccines in the world, including AZ in the United Kingdom, Moderna in the United States, and BNT in Germany. The government has ordered these two vaccines from the United Kingdom and the United States.

Tsai Ing-wen mentioned that for the German BNT, the government and the original German factory almost completed the contract at one time, "but because of CCP China's intervention, the contract has been delayed until now."

Tsai Ing-wen said that the government's approach to vaccine procurement is : First, vaccines are critical to people’s health, involving strict supply, cold chain, and rigorous emergency authorization procedures. The purchase of vaccines must be coordinated by the central government; and, in conjunction with the central government's overall epidemic prevention strategy, the vaccine delivery can proceed smoothly, which is in line with fairness. She said, second, like the already purchased AZ and Moderna, the principle of the command center is to negotiate directly with the original factory or through COVAX. "Only by negotiating with the original manufacturer, can you obtain the original manufacturer's direct guarantee and responsibility for quality and safety, so as to avoid legal and political risks."

Third, Tsai Ing-wen pointed out that including outsourcing, domestic vaccines have been purchased. Nearly 30 million doses will be delivered in batches every month in the next few months. By the end of August, there will be a total of 10 million doses of vaccine. The government is doing its utmost to speed up the delivery so that more vaccines will be available in Taiwan by the end of August to provide people with vaccination.

In addition, domestic vaccines are also in progress, and stable and abundant vaccines will be provided. She said that when the epidemic situation is tense, all people of the country and all county and mayors will pay special attention to the progress of the vaccine. "I hope that everyone will fully support the central government to coordinate and handle the vaccine, and the central government will also fully support the local epidemic prevention work and needs."

Tsai Ing-wen emphasized that epidemic prevention is first, ensuring the health and safety of the people of the country is first, consistent standards, the whole country, and the whole people are united to fight the epidemic together and once again overcome the difficult challenges of this wave of epidemics. Buy vaccines from mainland China? Chen Shizhong "to save lives": They dare not use

Editor : Chen Yiling / Translation, editing : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA

The command centre added 302 new cases as local cases on 26 May and 331 cases were corrected and returned. In the face of the increasingly serious epidemic, the outside world is worried that the dose of 410,000 doses of AZ vaccine is not enough, and whether they will consider the vaccine provided by mainland China.

In this regard, commander Chen Shizhong said today that the vaccine is used to save lives, "They are fighting, we don't dare to use it." Fearing that 410,000 doses of AZ vaccine were not enough, Nantou County Mayor Lin Mingqin stated that he had negotiated for 300,000 doses of German Pfizer vaccine through Shanghai Fosun, and he waited for the central government to nod. Taipei Mayor Ke Wenzhe also appealed to the central government, hoping to consider purchasing Pfizer vaccines. On 27 May, 150,000 doses of vaccine will be distributed to counties and cities.

As for whether the German BNT Pfizer vaccine is an OEM in China? Chen Shizhong said today that they have not received any official documents and he has no way to comment on the matter. However, as far as he knows, mainland China has not yet issued a drug certificate to BNT or BioNTech drug certificate, and mainland China is not administering BNT vaccine. He does not know if there are any related issues. He has been in contact with many related cases since last year, "Bring the official documents and talk about it."

If mainland China wants to provide Taiwan vaccines, is it acceptable to the command centre? In this regard, Chen Shizhong said, "Vaccines are life-saving," but in fact there are still risks. The overall review must be rigorous. This can be said, "One is that they are not fighting. We are a little interested. If they are vaccinating, we don’t dare to use it.”

Russian agency spread false information to lure Internet celebrities to discredit Pfizer vaccine

Reporter :  Chen Ting / Editor : Ye Ziwei / https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/21/5/26/n12976103.htm / Direct translation

In the global response to the covid epidemic, China, Russia and other countries have been repeatedly found to be engaged in cognitive warfare and information warfare to discredit other countries' epidemic prevention achievements or vaccine efficacy. Recently, Russia is suspected of using related companies to lure influential European Internet celebrities to spread false information such as Pfizer vaccines causing hundreds of deaths.

According to the British "Guardian" report, a British public relations agency "Fazze", which has obvious ties to Russia, provided funds to Youtubers, bloggers and Internet celebrities in France and Germany last week, asking them to lie to fans that Pfizer's vaccine caused hundreds of deaths, and the mortality rate of the vaccine is almost three times higher than that of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The company mainly targets Internet celebrities in the fields of health and science, telling them that there is an anonymous customer with a "large budget" who wants to establish a "partnership" with them.

According to information on LinkedIn, Fazze's management comes from Moscow and worked for an organization founded by Russian entrepreneurs. A French Youtuber also discovered that the contact address on the company's website was false.

After the incident was revealed, the company's website was closed, the Instagram account was changed to a private account, and the LinkedIn page of the company director was also deleted.

These Internet celebrities are required to forward a link to a leaked report on YouTube, Instagram or TikTok. The data in the report is said to prove that Pfizer’s vaccine is highly dangerous.

Internet celebrities were asked to tell subscribers, "The mainstream media ignored this issue" and spread: "Why are Pfizer vaccines dangerous to people's health, but some governments actively buy them?"

Fazze also requires Internet celebrities to “show enthusiasm and interest in this topic” and avoid using words such as “advertisement” or “sponsorship” in posts or videos, because “these materials should be presented as your own independent point of view ".

A French scientific YouTuber with 1.2 million subscribers, Léo Grasset, posted a screenshot of the email sent to him by Fazze on Twitter. He said that the event allegedly had a "huge budget", but Fazze declined to reveal the identity of the funder behind the scenes.

Sami Ouladitto, a French actor with 400,000 subscribers, shared a similar experience.

In Germany, YouTuber Mirko Drotschman with 1.5 million subscribers also posted screenshots of Fazze's email, asking him to promote "a large number of deaths" after being vaccinated with Pfizer.

The email finally mentioned, "Please send us your subscriber age statistics...and how much it will cost."

French Health Minister Olivier Veran told French television station BFMTV on Tuesday, "This is sad, dangerous, irresponsible, and unsuccessful."

Vilan said that most French people are willing to be vaccinated, and he does not think this approach will work. He added that he is not sure whether the operation originated in Russia.

Agence France-Presse pointed out that currently only Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson allow vaccines in the EU. The Russian-made Sputnik V and China's Sinopharm vaccines have not yet been approved by the EU.

Lai Qingde: Taiwan’s anti-epidemic playoffs need everyone’s cooperation and understanding

Lai Qingde: What we are fighting against is the virus, not the patient

Reporter : Zhong Yuan / Editor : Ye Ziwei / https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/21/5/26/n12975952.htm / Direct translation

Image : Vice President Lai Qingde of the Republic of China stated on 26 May that he would like to say to the infected persons and the families of all the infected persons: Thank you for your hard work! In this anti-epidemic playoff, no one can stay out of the matter. It needs everyone's cooperation and understanding. (Provided by the Presidential Palace)

The Vice President of the Republic of China Lai Qingde stated on May 26 that the national three-level alert was extended to June 14. In this anti-epidemic playoff, no one can stay out of the matter. It needs everyone's cooperation and understanding.

Lai Qingde said on Facebook on the 26th that please note that in response to changes in the epidemic, the Epidemic Command Centre announced that the national three-level alert will be extended to 14 June. He said that in order to reduce the risk of gathering together and protect the health and learning rights of teachers and students, the suspension of schools at all levels, after-school care centers, and cram schools has also been extended to 14 June. Classes are taught online at home. Parents are kindly asked to be considerate.

He urged everyone to pay attention to the following messages:

1. Continue to expand online teaching and learning auxiliary resources to provide teachers and students with more home learning channels.

2. If there are children under the age of 12 and children with disabilities who need to be cared for at home, parents can ask for "epidemic prevention and care leave".

3. For those who are unable to study at home, the school will still arrange manpower to provide students with school study, care and meals.

4. During the online learning at home, continue to strengthen the caring mechanism for disadvantaged students, so that the meal assistance is not interrupted.

5. Schools at all levels and public and private kindergartens cooperate with the closure of graduation ceremonies.

6. The make-up test for the Junior High School Education Examination will still be held on 5 and 6 June, and the Junior High School Examination transcript will be sent out on 11 June.

We are fighting the virus, not the patient

"We are fighting the virus, not the patient." Lai Qingde said that he would like to say to the infected persons and all the families of the infected persons, "Hard work! Since the epidemic heats up, the society has occasionally voiced fear and even stigmatization towards some infected people and high-risk areas. Many friends who live in high-risk areas have a very sluggish atmosphere. I often listen to the sound of an ambulance passing by through a piece of glass, and I am afraid that I will be the next person to be taken away by a stretcher."

He said that some homeless friends, because they have lost their homes and privacy rights, are exposed to the public's eyes for eating and drinking, and even because they are worried that they will become a breach of epidemic prevention, they dare not even take off their masks when they sleep.

He would like to remind everyone: The virus spreads regardless of each other, and the panic is not helpful to the epidemic. In the face of a highly contagious virus, it is natural for people to experience anxiety and fear. However, the infected or contacts are more worried and disturbed than we are, and they need psychological support. Although they cannot shake hands and hug, a gentle look or smile can also make them feel at ease.

"Looking at the daily epidemic figures, everyone is very nervous." Lai Qingde said, but another meaning of unity in epidemic prevention is to show empathy and be the strongest backing for each other. "We may not be able to replace the first-line medical heroes and provide patients with the best diagnosis and treatment; we may not be able to replace the hard-working police and political colleagues who still shuttle through the lanes during the epidemic to continue to protect the health of the people."

He said, however, as long as you take personal preventive measures and reduce unnecessary travel footprints, you and I can become epidemic prevention heroes in this epidemic prevention war. No one can stay out of this playoff. He would like to implore everyone to be considerate of each other and strictly implement personal epidemic prevention measures, not only to protect themselves, but also to reduce the burden on medical staff, military police, firefighters, and all epidemic prevention personnel.

He once again reminded everyone that you must wear masks all the time when you go out, and avoid unnecessary movement and gatherings. The business premises must strictly implement the actual joint system, "Let us continue to adhere to and strictly guard the community's defense line."

Free vaccination for Hong Kong two-way permit holders

The Hong Kong SAR government continues to use different methods to "grain needles" and announced yesterday that it will expand the vaccination program to mainland residents holding permits to travel to and from Hong Kong and Macau, non-repatriation claimants in Hong Kong and the United Nations refugees recognized by the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees.

According to the authorities, there are currently more than 40,000 mainland residents holding two-way permits who are allowed to stay in Hong Kong as visitors, and most of them have come to Hong Kong to visit relatives with a visitor's endorsement. Due to the epidemic situation and the quarantine measures of the two places, they may need to stay in Hong Kong due to special reasons or difficulties, and generally live with Hong Kong residents who are eligible for vaccination. Based on public health considerations, those who hold a two-way permit and are allowed to stay in Hong Kong as a visitor and can complete two doses of vaccinations before the expiration of their stay without extension can bring them during office hours starting Friday (28 May). They may go to any post office with the same two-way permit and the entry label or extension of stay label issued by the Immigration Department, with the assistance of staff to make an appointment, and go to the community vaccination centre to receive two doses of vaccine within the period of stay.

Refugees can be vaccinated from July

The government is also preparing to vaccinate about 13,000 non-refoulement claimants and refugees confirmed by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The government is conducting a questionnaire survey with relevant persons through the Hong Kong International Social Service to understand their intent to vaccinate, and plans to arrange 4 to 6 designated vaccination centers to vaccinate them and provide translation services from July.

Yuan Haiwen, deputy spokesman for the Democratic Party’s medical policy, believes that, except for refugees or people with insufficient financial means, the cost of vaccination should be paid, which is the same as the arrangement for Hong Kong and Macau residents to vaccinate at their own expense in China. He also believes that the government should only allow people with two-way permits to be vaccinated with vaccines approved by the mainland authorities. Because the original intention of the two-way permit is to travel between China and Hong Kong, the status of mainland residents remains unchanged. It would be more appropriate to only receive vaccines approved by the mainland unanimously.

Two additional covid cases of unknown origin in Hong Kong

In addition, as of 25 May, there were two newly confirmed cases of covid in Hong Kong, both of which were local cases of unknown origin.

One patient was a 43-year-old Pakistani male construction worker working in the main tunnel of the Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel and related construction sites. He returned to Hong Kong from Pakistan on 16 March. He was quarantined at Silka Far East Hotel in Tsuen Wan from that day to 5 April, and then lived in Shek Wah House, Shek Lei (2) Village, Kwai Chung. He has no symptoms. He was tested at a community testing centre on the 9th of this month, and the result was negative. On 23 May, he went to the testing center for regular testing and was diagnosed.

The other patient, a 37-year-old Filipino maid, arrived in Hong Kong from the Philippines on 20 March and was quarantined at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in North Point on the same day until 10 April, and then lived at the employer’s residence in Heliao Village, Taidong, Saigon. She went to the community testing center for testing on the 9th of this month, and the result was negative. On 22 May, she went to the testing center for testing and was diagnosed. Tests conducted by the Public Health Laboratory Service of the Department of Health showed that the maid’s sample contained the N501Y mutant virus strain and the E484K mutant gene.

The maid reported that she had visited the Fo Tan Office of the Immigration Department on 30 April and this month. On 9 and 16 May she had visited her relative’s residence in Block 8, Ma On Shan Hai Dianju. Visited Ma Shan Park on 1, 2 and 23 May.

The Centre for Health Protection stated that the relevant persons in the places visited by the two patients are required to undergo compulsory testing, and close contacts of the patients have been arranged to be sent to the quarantine centre.

At night of 23 May, Guangzhou officially announced that 2 confirmed cases were an elderly couple who were infected with B.1.617 mutant strain while in Shenzhen, it was officially announced that five confirmed asymptomatic infections from the same company were infected with the British mutant strain B.1.1.7.

An Epoch Times reporter's investigation found that the epidemic situation is severe. B.1.1.7  mutant strain in Shenzhen has been concentrated in Ocean Shipping Tally Co., Ltd. in Yantian, and the company's employees have been vaccinated with domestic vaccines. Except for the confirmed cases, all personnel of the company were quarantined in a centralized hotel, and the official report was still delayed to conceal the epidemic.

The Shenzhen outbreak presents B.1.1.7

In the morning of 25 May, according to Shenzhen Epidemic Notification on 25 May, Shenzhen added 1 imported asymptomatic infection and 1 overseas-related asymptomatic infection (Shi Mou, male, 33 years old), residing In Building 5, Donghai Lijing Garden, Yantian District, employees of Shenzhen Ocean Shipping Tally Co., Ltd. work in Yantian Port District.

The four confirmed cases of the Shenzhen epidemic previously announced on the 23rd were also asymptomatic infections. The workplaces were all in the Yantian Port West Operating Area. Among them, Mu was a container ship tallyman, Xu was a rope tying worker, and Zeng. Engaged in Kewen work (communication with the crew), Zhang is a staff member at the bottom of the tower. All four people participated in the operation of the same international freighter on May 17.

While Mu and Xu both live in Yantian District, Zeng and Zhang both live in Xikeng Community, Longgang District. All confirmed cases are currently being treated in isolation at the Third People's Hospital.

Shenzhen Deputy Mayor Tao Yongxin introduced on the 23rd that the test results of Mu and Xu were infected with B.1.1.7. The genetic sequencing results of the other two cases will be released. The official also said that based on genome sequence analysis and epidemiological investigations, it was speculated that the epidemic was from the same source of infection or the same chain of transmission.

The company's employees have been vaccinated with domestic vaccines

A close contact, Wu Hua (pseudonym), told The Epoch Times reporter on 24 May that his company would do a nucleic acid test every week. “One person was screened in the last nucleic acid test, so that all people would have another nucleic acid test. At the same time, all people are isolated. The two bosses of the company are not isolated, and all the others, including the top executives, are also isolated."

He also introduced that in the two nucleic acid screenings, four confirmed cases were found, all of them were from the same company (the foreign shipping tally company). "We are all quarantined in the hotel, taking our body temperature twice a day for a nucleic acid test." "After four nucleic acid tests, a serum test is required, which requires 14 days of quarantine."

He also said that the source of the infection in the confirmed case has not been found.

However, in the official notification, the confirmed cases were labeled asymptomatic infected persons with "overseas connection".

Close contact Huang Zong (pseudonym) also introduced to The Epoch Times on the 25th that he was the first batch to be quarantined at night of 20 May. Now nucleic acid tests are normal after a few days of quarantine, and he can go out as soon as early June.

He also introduced that he had received two vaccinations in January, and companies in mainland China are required to be vaccinated.

Huang Zong believes that the vaccine is still infected, and that the vaccine does not work well against the British mutant strains, but also depends on the individual's immunity.

The staff of the Shenzhen Center for Disease Control and Prevention told The Epoch Times that currently there are two main types of vaccines in Shenzhen, Beijing Coxing and Beijing Biological.

Before the Thai women's volleyball team was also exposed to the Beijing Coxing vaccine, the entire team was still infected and forced to give up participating in international competitions. Prior to this, the Philippine Presidential Guard had all been vaccinated against Sinopharm, and more than 100 guards were still infected with covid.

Therefore, the safety and effectiveness of vaccines made in CCP China have been criticized by the outside world.

Residents in communities with confirmed cases interviewed to reveal official delay in concealing notification

In the community where the confirmed case is located, Wu Hua said that he would also need to do three or four nucleic acid tests and be quarantined for 14 days. The entire community is closed and no entry or exit is allowed, and the building where the confirmed case is located, no one can go downstairs.

In the morning of 25 May, the community where the latest confirmed case was officially announced was "Building 5, Donghai Lijing Garden, Yantian", but local residents told The Epoch Times that they had been isolated for several days. Residents said, "A worker working at the wharf was found in Building 5 here. The whole building was sealed off, and everyone was sealed in it. It has been several days."

The resident also introduced, “The surrounding shops are still operating normally. We have done nucleic acid twice. Some time ago because of the epidemic, people were afraid to go out. There were few people and business was greatly affected.”

He also emphasized, "This building No. 5 is out of luck. Last year, when the epidemic was discovered in Building No. 5, it was blocked. This year, Building No. 5 is again."

The official caliber is inconsistent, the expert hotline does not know that Shenzhen is a British mutant strain

On 25 May, the CDC in Shenzhen asked reporters on the 25th that there are still concentrated infections in vaccination, whether it is caused by the poor effect of domestic vaccines on British mutant strains. The other party responded that vaccination is not 100% preventable.

The Shenzhen Epidemic Expert Consultation Hotline 12345 directly denied that Shenzhen’s virus was a British mutant strain on the 25th, claiming that “it has not received relevant information in this regard”, and asked “Did you see it on the Internet?”. When the reporter responded that it was mainland Chinese media reported what the deputy mayor of Shenzhen said at a press conference on 23 May, the other party still mechanically said to read the official website news.

The reporter asked the experts how to see that these confirmed cases were vaccinated and infected with B.1.1.7. The other party said that they need to check to see if there is any relevant information.

After more than ten seconds, the other party said, "After detailed inquiry, it is said that there is no vaccine to protect 100%. Therefore, even if the CCP virus vaccine is given, personal protection measures are indispensable. Currently, the vaccine protection rate is predicted to be at least one year but we need to continue to observe the protection of the vaccine and the mutation of the virus."

The Guangzhou CDC said when the citizens need to take special precautions for the emergence of B.1.617, it is recommended to meet the vaccinations of the population vaccinated with the CCP virus vaccine, in addition to personal protection.

When the reporter asked whether the current domestic vaccine is against the common virus and whether there would be any problem with the effect of the variant strain first identified in India, the other party said that it is now studying the variant vaccine, whether it will be vaccinated every year in the future, it needs to wait for an official announcement.

When the reporter asked why the two elderly people in Guangzhou were suddenly infected with B.1.617, the other party said that he had paid attention to the official report behind the traceability and asked to wait patiently.

A group of undiagnosed people desperate under the Wuhan epidemic

It has been more than a year since the covid outbreak spread in Wuhan in December 2019. During this period, a batch of nucleic acid tests appeared. Covid patients who have tested negative and have not been diagnosed have been tortured by illness for a long time and are on the verge of despair.

In the eyes of other people or doctors, they are regarded as anxiety disorders, and some are even suspected of being mental patients. The pain they experienced can only be understood by a group of people with similar feelings.

On the mainland social platform Zhihu, many people posted that they have symptoms similar to those of patients with mild covid, such as dry cough, excessive phlegm, fatigue, body migratory pain, diarrhea, abdominal distension, chest tightness, fever, muscle atrophy, and infection. Most of the symptoms occurred in January and February last year when the Wuhan epidemic broke out; or in Wuhan, or outside Hubei, there is no history of exposure to Wuhan, because the symptoms are mild, nucleic acid testing is not available in the early stage of the onset, and the antibodies are all in the later nucleic acid testing diagnosed negative. They have set up their own WeChat group to exchange treatment experience with each other.

Li Jun (pseudonym), a patient from Haikou, Hainan, told the Epoch Times reporter, “I don’t know how many such groups are in the country. I am in two groups, with more than 100 people, and only one or two have been diagnosed. Young people are all known from Zhihu. You go to Baidu and search for 'chest tightness and low-grade fever', and you will find that almost all of them are in early 2020. When I look at their symptoms, I know what the situation is."

They hope that they will be formally diagnosed with covid so that they will receive formal treatment instead of rushing to the doctor.

Fell ill after leaving Wuhan, sold a house for more than a year for treatment

Li Jun works in a company in Haikou. He is young and promising. He has a generous annual income of 200,000 RMB. He has a lovely four-year-old daughter in the family. He lives a happy life with his wife and plans for future development. However, his turnaround from Wuhan during a business trip in late December 2019 turned into a nightmare for him.

After returning from a business trip for more than 20 days, he started to have a sore throat on 20 January 2020. From the second day onwards, he had a high fever for 5 consecutive days. The injections and medicines did not work.

"I haven’t seen it since I was young. Injections didn’t work, medicines didn’t work, and I had never been sick like this. After that, I had a dry cough. The symptom of cough had never appeared. It was a dry cough from the bottom of the lungs, like drumming that kind of cough and diarrhea." Li Jun felt something was wrong. At that time, it was just in time for New Year's Eve (24 January 2020). The family was celebrating the New Year in the countryside. He immediately decided to go back to Haikou with his wife.

After returning to Haikou, he went to the hospital for a checkup. He asked for a nucleic acid testbut the doctor only gave him some medicine on the grounds that he did not need a nucleic acid test for more than 14 days and had no contact history in Wuhan.

His fever subsided after five days. He thought that his illness was cured, and then he showed symptoms of being out of breath and sweating profusely when he got up in the middle of the night. In severe cases, he had to change clothes three times a night, and he would run to the window and open the window to breathe.

Li Jun said, "Then all the strange symptoms of my body have appeared since then. I can feel the smell of rust in my mouth after drinking water and eating. This symptom lasted for about half a month. Then I didn't feel it. I was thirsty, because I love to drink water, but I can’t feel thirsty. I can’t feel the temperature either, like my body has a low fever, I can’t feel it. Then I sweat every night since then. This symptom is almost like everyone has it. I have to change three clothes in one night and sweat every night."

To make matters worse, his wife and children also developed symptoms. His wife also started to have a high fever five days after he had a high fever. After nine consecutive days of fever, his lively and active daughter developed a dry cough, shouting tired every day, unwilling to move, and lying in bed.

At this time, he saw a report about Wuhan doctor Li Wenliang on the Internet. After he was diagnosed with covid, Li Wenliang also showed symptoms of sweating every night. "At that time, I felt for the first time that I was a hit." Li Jun said.

On 6 February, half a month has passed since he became ill. After he strongly requested that he go to the hospital for the first nucleic acid test, the test result was negative. He also told the Hainan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention about their family's situation, but they did not receive attention.

Starting in March, he had symptoms of joint pain all over his body again, "The pain made me go up and down the stairs... I live on the second floor, and I can't climb the stairs, nor can I go down the stairs. Even if I give you painkillers, it doesn't work."

Then the coughing worsened and coughing all the time. During the period, he had a CT scan of his lungs, and there were multiple fiber strands in both lungs. During the period, he also coughed up blood and sputum twice. Later, he also had an alveolar DNA test and everything was normal. The doctor told him that everything was fine, and there was no problem with his lungs. There was just a little emphysema, but it was not so uncomfortable.

Li Jun, after one symptom disappeared, another symptom appeared. His wife also showed similar symptoms to him, and so far the symptoms of both of them have been one after another. Since last year, their family has been hospitalized four times, each of which lasted fifteen to twenty days. The child had to be hospitalized with them because there was no one to take care of. Now the family of three is hospitalized in Hainan Cancer Hospital. He said that now his symptoms are chest tightness, and the muscles of the chest expanders are shrinking.

His wife's symptoms are similar to him, "My wife still has abdominal distension and abdominal pain, just holding her breath, and she still has minor symptoms, more than mine."

In June last year, he sold his house to treat his illness. Now he is completely relying on his savings from selling the house to treat his illness. So far, he has spent more than 400,000 RMB on medical expenses. "I'm very desperate. I spent a lot of money. I can't work in this state, and my wife doesn't work. I think I'm particularly miserable."

"My body is just uncomfortable. Don't you want to go to the hospital for treatment? The kind that makes you very desperate at home is not as good as death, and then just go to the hospital to find a kind of comfort, but the injections have no effect." Li Jun said.

"So we know very well that we really want to be diagnosed and get the country-related drugs. If we wander outside together, these ordinary antibiotics are really useless, and now I am desperate."

This group was concentrated in Wuhan and was also forcibly isolated at the time

Li Jun also revealed that about 40% of their suspected Wuhan pneumonia patients are concentrated in Wuhan, but he also believes that this is the case in many people across the country.

Liu Hua (pseudonym) is from Wuhan. She developed cold-like symptoms on 23 January 2020, the first day Wuhan was closed.

This cold was different from usual. There were some strange phenomena, and it was not easy to take medicine.

"From that day on, the feeling was different from usual. In the morning, there was still a low-grade fever. In the afternoon, it suddenly seemed as if the chest had been shocked. There was a cold feeling. It penetrated the whole body, as if being passed by an electric current, from the chest to the chest. It spread around. Then there was a bit of diarrhea, but it was not serious. I only had one diarrhea. After taking anti-inflammatory drugs, the diarrhea seemed to be suppressed. The result was not good. Anti-inflammatory drugs should not be taken, and then fever." Liu Hua said that she had fever until June.

On the second day of her illness, she went to the hospital for a nucleic acid test, which was negative. She also had a CT scan and there was no abnormality in her lungs. After half a month, she contacted the community and tested again. CT found that there were nodules in the lungs. She was treated as a suspected patient and was isolated for 14 days.

Liu Hua said that after the end of her isolation, her family members were also forced to go to the hotel for isolation, which made her relationship with her family members tense and thought she was making a fuss.

Until now, Liu Hua has experienced the same symptoms as others, such as low-grade fever, chest tightness, cough, sputum, irregular heartbeat, and so on. However, compared with others, she may be more optimistic. She advocates conditioning with Chinese medicine, not taking medicine casually, regulating her emotions, and avoiding being treated as a depression patient.

Group of undiagnosed suspected covid patients in China

She also confirmed to reporters that there are many undiagnosed suspected patients like her in Wuhan and even across the country. She revealed that there was a doctor in Wuhan who organized a group of people with the same symptoms as Liu Hua. They were ill at the same time. The doctor put them together for a digital survey. The number of people in the group reached 500 people. Later, she felt that she was too nervous to be there, so she withdrew from the group.

Being regarded as an anxiety disorder or even a mental patient, life is better than death

These people are often regarded as anxiety patients by doctors and people around them, and some are even regarded as mental patients. They say that they are uncomfortable and infectious, and no one believes them.

Li Jun said, "The doctor said (I am) anxiety. Will anxiety cough? Will there be inflammation in the chest when CT is taken?"

Undiagnosed covid case in Dalian treated as neurotic

"It's really painful. I don't live as good as I die every day." This is the first sentence of a manicurist Li Yan (pseudonym) in Dalian in an interview with reporters.

She was infected during the outbreak in Dalian in December 2020. She was in contact with people in the quarantine area. Later, she developed fatigue, muscle aches, foreign body sensation in her throat, fever, chest tightness, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, and sputum in her throat. Such symptoms have continued to this day, with various symptoms one after another.

She also had a nucleic acid test and all of them were negative. She felt that she must have been recruited. She was afraid of being contagious, so she self-isolated. "I have been in self-isolation for almost two months. I have barely contacted others. Later, various physical symptoms appeared. After the quarantine period, I went for another test. The doctor treated me as an anxiety disorder."

She is currently unable to work due to illness. "My family does not believe that we are all treated as neurotic at home, but only we know the perception of physical discomfort. No one speaks for us. I want to die every day. Maybe I can only live to 27 years old."

Undiagnosed covid case in Hebei suggested by doctor for psychiatric treatment

Zhou Yu (pseudonym) from Qixian County, Hebei Province is a hotel waiter. She still does not know how she contracted the disease. At first, she just felt sick in her throat.

Zhou recalled, "It's just that the throat is a bit itchy, a bit phlegm, and very mild symptoms. After consulting online, I bought Lianhua Qingwen and it was effective once I ate it. It was almost done after eating two boxes."

But in May and July (2020), her symptoms worsened, with dry itchy throat, cough, low-grade fever, fatigue, muscle aches, etc. She also had a CT scan of her lungs in October, and there was inflammation. During this period, she was also hospitalized due to a serious illness.

What she did not expect was that her children and mother had the same symptoms as her, and she knew that she could be infected.

She also said that during the period, she also did many nucleic acid tests, all of which were negative. She always believed that she was infected with covid but the doctors did not admit it, and she could not produce any evidence.

"I reported and went to the hospital to find a doctor, and they all thought I was a neuropathy. They said that you had done nucleic acid test, and the blood did not show up but there was a slight chronic inflammation in the lungs. He asked me to see the psychology department."

Zhou Yu is currently suffering from a decline in her body's immunity, and she catches a cold once every three to five days. Her body is very weak. Infusion and ordinary medicine are useless.

Because her illness brought her a lot of mental pressure, she was almost unable to survive. Zhou Yu deduced, "I'm a little commoner. People don't believe me but you also read Weibo. This is the case everywhere."

Epidemic prevention myth is shattered "BBC Reveals 4 Factors" Taiwanese people sigh: the government dare not face reality

Editor : Liao Zipan / Translation, editing : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA

The local epidemic continues to spread, and medical treatment capacity and equipment are also facing severe tests. Taiwan has always been a model student for epidemic prevention. Why did the situation change overnight? The BBC pointed out that behind the collapse of Taiwan’s myth 4 factors immediately aroused discussion among netizens. The local cases in Taiwan have been exploding. (Photo/TVBS) The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (26) that 302 new local cases have been added, and 331 cases have been corrected and returned. The number of confirmed cases in a single day has exceeded 10 days, and the amount of medical care in Taipei and New Taipei required is increasing.

Tensions have caused the country to enter the third-level epidemic alert. Taiwan people must wear masks all the time when going out. Counties and cities have successively banned restaurants from providing internal services. Why has ordinary life changed?

According to the BBC report, since the outbreak of the global epidemic, Taiwan has been successfully preventing the spread of the epidemic. From April to December 2020, there were no local cases in Taiwan for 8 consecutive months. This record makes Taiwanese proud.

However, at the end of April and early May 2021, Taiwan's Novotel Group infection of China Airlines pilots broke out, followed by derivative infections in many places such as Wanhua Teahouse. Now the whole Taiwan has entered the third level of alert. One step is the four-level alert for a complete lockdown.

BBC analyzes the four key points behind the collapse of Taiwan’s myths, namely, "external tightening and internal looseness and safety illusion", "covi vaccination rate is very low", "correction return makes many people confused", "advanced deployment and god-making movement".

The BBC report pointed out that first of all "tighten outside and loose inside and illusion of safety", especially the relaxation of the quarantine measures for the crew of China Airlines, creating a breach in epidemic prevention. Second, the "covi vaccination rate is very low." At the beginning, Taiwanese believed that Taiwan was safe and did not need to be vaccinated. Secondly, the safety of the vaccine caused many people to worry. The rate of government procurement in Taiwan was relatively slow compared with other countries.

The report also said that "corrected regression has left many people confused." In fact, many countries have the concept of corrected regression at the beginning of the outbreak. If the statistics are changed to "the average number of confirmed cases in the past 7 days", in other words, there will be no so-called calibration regression.

As for the "advanced deployment and god-making movement", the epidemic in Taiwan has spread, and the Kuomintang has taken advantage of the situation. In the past, the commander Chen Shizhong was praised as a god by the outside world. No one dared to "advance the time". It is high point now that there are waves of criticism but there are still people who support and cheer.

As soon as the news came out, netizens also started discussions. Netizens left a message saying, "Yeah, why didn't you get vaccinated in the first place?", "The truth that even the BBC knows, but the government doesn't dare Face it", "Why don't you get a vaccine? Oh, there is no vaccine, how do you get it", "Foreigners are too honest", "Taiwan is really ashamed."

Singapore's updated guidelines on mask imports

Report by : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA / Source : 8world

As the government updates the guidelines for the use of masks, from this week, as long as they import more than three boxes from abroad and each box contains 50 surgical masks, manufacturers or individuals must prove to the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) that the masks meet the 95% bacterial filtration efficiency rate standard. This means that online shopping service sellers and general consumers will be affected. Masks that do not meet the standards will not be able to enter Singapore.

The mask importers interviewed received an email from HSA on Monday, informing them that they must submit a bacterial filtration rate test report or certificate to the authorities 24 hours before importing masks.

A company has submitted relevant documents for the transportation of three batches of masks, and all of them have been approved immediately. However, according to the system's automatic response, the authorities will request more information from the importer when necessary.

Chen Weiqin, the business development manager of the mask distribution and import company, revealed, “We import masks from China. We now require all manufacturers to send us official certificates and all documents before shipping. Next, according to the recommendations on the website of the HSA, our company owns packaging of masks will now include the manufacturer’s name, expiration date, and a label with a bacterial filtration rate of more than 95%."

When inquired, a third-party freight forwarding platform pointed out that consumers have to submit their own certificates and should ask the company if they have any questions, otherwise the transportation of masks may be delayed or even unable to enter Singapore.

Another online shopping platform stated that it will try its best to ensure that the masks sold on the platform meet the new standards.

Tu Jialin, director of the online shopping platform Q0010, said:, “The products uploaded by sellers are not automatically uploaded and can continue to be sold. Instead, we need our platform’s team to use their eyes and hands. Artificial intelligence is not 100% guaranteed, confirmed. It's OK, so we still need our team to scan and clean up one by one."

Food delivery staff frequently diagnosed, the food delivery platform defaults to contact-free delivery of meals

Report by : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA

In less than a week, eight local food delivery staff in Singapore have suffered from covid. Many food delivery staff interviewed said that in addition to complying with stricter epidemic prevention requirements, they themselves have also taken additional measures and taken extra care but the nature of their work determines that they will inevitably face a greater risk of infection.

As the number of cases in the local community increased and the government tightened its anti-epidemic measures, a food delivery person decided that it was not worth the risk and decided to switch careers and began to learn about photography editing.

Food delivery person Su Zhemin said, "I had a fever at the beginning of the epidemic, and I don't want to experience it again. To be honest, it was a bit scary and I felt uncomfortable. I was admitted to the hospital at the time. Fortunately, the test result was not positive."

In order to strengthen epidemic prevention, many major local food delivery platforms have already defaulted or forced food delivery in a form of avoidance of contact. However, some food delivery staff interviewed felt that there were risks not only when delivering food, but also when receiving food.

The food delivery person Shan Shun thought, “We need to gather together to pick up the meal. This situation is a bit risky for us. But as I said, we don’t know who is infected and who is not. We can only ask for blessings."

At present, the two local fast food chains, McDonald's and KFC both put the packaged food on a separate table for the delivery staff to pick up. The food delivery platform also reminds the food delivery staff to keep a safe distance while waiting for food.
