According to the Hubei Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, on 17 May 2021, the Yingcheng CDC found 1 case of novel coronavirus nucleic acid positive from the regular inspections of the inbound centralized quarantine personnel, which was reviewed by the Hubei Province and Xiaogan CDCs to be positive. On 18 May, the clinical expert team of Xiaogan City diagnosed a case of covid (common type), and is currently being treated in isolation at a local designated hospital.
According to epidemiological investigation, the case Zhu XX entered by plane from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via Guangzhou on 30 April 2021, and completed 14 days of intensive medical observation in Guangzhou. During the period, 4 nucleic acid test results were all negative. On 14 May, his quarantine was lifted on the same day and went to Baiyun Airport by special car. He stayed at the Van Bo Hotel near the airport for one night. On 15 May, the hotel escorted him to Baiyun Airport by special car, and boarded China Southern Airlines flight CZ8724 (seat number R45K) to Wuhan Tianhe Airport. Zhu XX wore mask all the way on board except for dining. After returning to Yingcheng on 15 May, medical observation was conducted at the centralized isolation point in the city.
Hubei CDC reminds that people who have intersections with Zhu XX on the same flight or itinerary should immediately contact the local CDC for personal protection, avoid taking public transportation, and take the initiative to conduct nucleic acid testing at designated locations in the locality. At the same time, it is hoped that the general public will wear masks, pay attention to personal hygiene, and earnestly implement normalized personal prevention and control measures.
