"Kai Tak Sky Garden" located on the front runway of Kai Tak has been opened. It is the first sky garden in Hong Kong built on a wave-shaped noise barrier. It is designed with aviation as the theme. It has a total length of about 1.4 kilometers and an area of about 2 hectares. The future metropolitan park is connected to the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal and Kai Tak Runway Park to the south.
The sky garden is planted with more than 80 types of trees and shrubs. The landscape gallery is divided into four areas: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, showing the different colours of the four seasons and highlighting the diversity of local plants.
The sky garden also has three overhead plazas, namely the "Garden Plaza", the "Grass Plaza" and the "Fountain Plaza". The "Ground Plaza" located in the south of the garden has an open-air theatre for leisure and entertainment activities. From now to 30 November 2021, travelers can shoot various interesting photos at the "check-in slot" in the sky garden through the AR mobile application.
