On 5 March 2020, there were large-scale cancellations in the domestic flights from Guangzhou, Shenzhen to Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou. Outsiders speculate that something may be wrong in Guangdong.

Some mainland netizens broke the news that the airlines sent text messages in the middle of the night to notify that the reason for cancellations was "public safety reasons". Staff also revealed that the cancellations were related to the outbreak of  COVID-19. It is speculated that something may have happened, and a second covid epidemic in China may have happened!

Pinsong.com issued a document on 5 March stating that "the second outbreak has begun. Shenzhen-Guangzhou flights have been cancelled due to 'public safety reasons' ". The article stated that on the morning of 5 March, a citizen broke into the Express Hotline and broke the news that he originally planned to board flight CA1736 from Shenzhen to Hangzhou at night of 5 March, but suddenly received a text message from the airline at midnight yesterday to inform him that the flight would be cancelled and cancelled again. The reason is "public safety reasons."

Flight CA1736, operated by Air China, was originally scheduled to take off from Shenzhen Baoan International Airport at 7 pm on 5 March and arrive at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport at 9 pm.

Air China staff told the Express reporter that the reason for the cancellation of flight CA1736 was indeed "public safety reasons" and that it had reported to the relevant departments. Staff also revealed that the specific reason for the cancellation may be related to the covid epidemic.

Not only flight CA1736 is affected, but also the flights from Shenzhen to Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and other domestic cities on the same night have shown cancellation status.

Flight CA1734 from Shenzhen to Hangzhou at 5.45 pm and flight MF8384 from Shenzhen to Hangzhou at 10.05 pm were both cancelled.

However, the staff of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport said that the last flight from Shenzhen to Hangzhou on 5 March would take off at 5.15 pm and the last flight to Nanjing would take off at 5.30 pm.

The staff also said that Shenzhen Airport had not received any relevant abnormal flight notification from the airlines.

Express reporter found that not only all flights from Shenzhen to Hangzhou were cancelled, but also flights from Guangzhou to Hangzhou, MF8382, ZH9981, CA1728, etc., would also be cancelled on 5 March. In the evening of  5 March, the last flight from Guangzhou to Hangzhou CA1722 departed at 5.15 pm.

It is reported that cancellation of flights on the grounds of "public safety reasons" is relatively rare in daily civil aviation operations. Due to large-scale events or emergencies, the reduction of support capacity and long safety time, and the occurrence of events that may affect flight safety, are often counted as "public safety reasons".

Qin Peng, a commentator on current affairs in the United States, also retweeted information about the cancellation of the flight, and he posted a post questioning that something might be wrong.

May be a big deal: all flights from Shenzhen and Guangzhou to Hangzhou are cancelled after 17:15 today-staff say "public safety reasons"
Express reporter got in touch with Air China, and the staff stated that the reason for the cancellation of flight CA1736 was indeed "public safety reasons", and they had reported to the relevant departments. For specific reasons, the staff revealed that there may be a certain relationship with the epidemic.
Flights to Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing have also been cancelled tonight.

Netizens have also speculated that the cancellation of the flight is related to the epidemic situation, which may be "the outbreak of Shenzhen-Guangzhou due to work resumption?", "There should be a large outbreak of infection in some areas of Guangdong Province."

A netizen mocked and said, "Yo yo, is there another big outbreak? The communist pneumonia is like diarrhoea, sitting on the toilet for a long time and feeling like it's gone. I just put on my pants and got another butt."

The epidemic was originally caused by the CCP's concealment of the epidemic and delays in the prevention of the epidemic in Wuhan. When the epidemic caused heavy damage to the CCP economy, the authorities ignored the safety of the people and forced the resumption of work in various places. Recently, outbreaks have repeatedly occurred in the offices. People hide information from the official media. A video was posted on the Internet, and some people in the mainland appealed, "No construction will start in March and the Communist Party will be dragged down; no resumption of work in June will usher in a new China."

Hong Kong’s famous commentator Pan Dongkai analyzed that under the current situation, the resumption or non-return of the CCP regime led by Xi Jinping is the same: "You can use a gun to point at some people regardless of life and death, and then open the factory. With less cash flow, there is no way to control the epidemic after resuming work. "

He said, "The entire Chinese Communist Party is an epidemic country, so the resumption of work has deepened the chance of contagion. There may be a second great outbreak, which means that there are two paths before him, and he will die if he does not return to work . "
