The Korean Central News Agency reported on Monday that about 2,280 people in North Korea have been quarantined under medical observation, and the North Korean authorities are lifting the quarantine period for those who have not had symptoms of COVID-19 (covid, in short).

According to Yonhap News Agency, this is the first time that North Korea has publicly disclosed the size of the country's quarantined personnel, but it does not mention the cumulative number of quarantined and discharged patients. It is reported that another foreigner was released from quarantine, and two foreigners are being quarantined. According to previous reports, only two of the more than 380 foreigners under medical observation are still under quarantine observation.

In addition, North Korea still maintains that there are no confirmed cases in the country, but it can be seen from North Korean media reports that while North Korea is gradually lifting the isolation of related personnel, it is preparing for a "protracted war on epidemic prevention." According to the report, with the spread of the covid epidemic worldwide, North Korea has further strengthened the national emergency prevention system and mentioned that the epidemic prevention work is "long-term".

The Labour Party newspaper "Labour News" also reported on the same day that the central bank carried out ultraviolet disinfection on cash banknotes to strictly prevent the spread of the epidemic.
