Covid hits 18 African countries to date

Covid has hit 18 African countries to date. 

The African countries affected include Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Senegal, Togo, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Africa, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Sudan, Kenya and Ethiopia.

Ethiopia has confirmed one covid case. The patient is a 48-year-old Japanese tourist who arrived in Addis Ababa by an Ethiopian Airlines flight on 4 March 2020 and diagnosed positive on 13 March 2020.

Kenya reported one covid case as well. The patient from London arrived in Nairobi on 5 March 2020 and diagnosed positive on 12 March 2020.

Guinea's first covid patient is a EU worker who has now self-isolated.

On 12 March 2020, Sudan's capital Khartoum reported one covid death case. The patient who passed away with covid previously visited the United Arab Emirates in early March.
