Iceland scientists said on Wednesday that they have discovered 40 mutations or small changes in the genome of the virus SARS-CoV-2 (covi, in short) that have recently spread worldwide. This discovery is shocking.

Scientists in Iceland have reportedly discovered these virus mutations after performing genetic sequencing on cotton swabs that have been detected in nearly 600 confirmed cases of covi in the country. As "fingerprints" of  the virus, these virus mutations help people figure out where they are transmitted from the world.

It is reported that by tracking these virus mutations, the scientists found that they came from three European countries, Austria, Italy and England.

Gene tracking company leader Kari Stefansson said that by tracking virus mutations, they found that some of the variants came from groups infected with the virus in Italy, some from Austria, and the rest from England. Seven infected people from England have visited a football stadium in England to watch the game.
