According to the Health Commission of Guangdong Province, there are 14 confirmed imported cases of COVID-19 on 23 March 2020, including 12 in Guangzhou (4 from Pakistan, 3 from the UK, 2 from Nigeria, and 1 each from the United States, Angola, and Congo), 1 in Shenzhen (from the United States) and one case in Shenzhen (from the United States). As of 12 am on 24 March 2020, the province has reported a total of 76 imported cases abroad, 1 overseas-associated case, and 3 discharged from hospital.
One Hubei tourist is tested positive in Foshan on 23 March 2020. The Health Commission of Guangdong Province has not revealed how the Hubei patient arrived in Foshan. Contact tracing of people that may have close contact with the Hubei patient and with the incoming tourists are in progress.
There are no cases from Hubei on 24 March 2020.
As of 12 pm on 24 March 2020, Guangdong province has reported a total of 1,433 confirmed cases of covid including 1,334 discharged patients, and 8 deaths. Four tourists from the United Kingdom, Pakistan, the United States and Chile were tested positive in Guangzhou.
1 patient was discharged on 24 March 2020. Among the 91 cases in the hospitals (including 77 imported cases), 18 patients show mild symptoms, 66 patients appear normal and 7 patients are in severe critical condition.
The Health Commission of Guangdong Province has notified the Hong Kong health department of the relevant situation. Details of the new cases will be notified by the relevant municipal health and health committees (bureaus).
