Air Koryo operates final flight to Vladivostok on 6 March 2020 due to COVID-19

According to CCTV branch in North Korea, Air Koryo operates its final flight to Vladivostok from Pyongyang on 6 March 2020. After the flight, the airline's fleet will remain inactive in Pyongyang as North Korea has closed its land borders to China, Russia and South Korea due to COVID-19.

Air Koryo has cancelled its scheduled flights to Beijing and other Chinese destinations since the outbreaks in Wuhan and Beijing.

Air Koryo's 6 March flight is opened to foreign expatriates and organizations in Pyongyang for booking. Prior to the flight, foreigners in Pyongyang are being quarantined for 30 days upon arrival.

According to North Korea media, there are 7000 suspected covid cases in North Korea while South Korea media reported there were 7 North Korean patients in North Korea with the first North Korean patient from Dalian. One of the North Korean patients was recently executed under North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's order for violating quarantine law.
