The China Communist government has been clamping down on bad news about COVID-19 control in mainland China since Internet access has disconnected in some small communities of Wuhan since 10 February 2020.

Since 1 March 2020, reporting bad news in the cyber world against the Communist government on the actual situation in epidemic control is a crime in mainland China and this law is now nation-wide.

As a result, the Chinese people's rights to speech freedom, media freedom have been completely eroded.

The new law contravenes mainland China's Article 35 of the Constitution: Citizens of the People's Republic of China have freedom of speech, publication, assembly, association, procession, and demonstration.

Instead of further reducing the COVID-19 cases in China proactively, the Communist government in epidemic prevention and control has been suppression on people's freedom  to speak out, publicize eye-witness reports, research studies, assemble and demonstrate their displeasure with the government in the effort to maintain "political stability".
