After the joint team of experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) concluded the epidemic investigations in Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Wuhan, they held press conferences in Beijing and Geneva on 24 and 25 February 2020 respectively. At the Geneva press conference, the team leader, WHO Assistant Director-General and Canadian doctor Bruce Aylward revealed that the investigations were merely conducted under Xi Jinping's guidance, with Xi's aim to show the world mainland China's efficiency in fighting the epidemic and containing the spread of COVID-19.

The WHO expert team first visited Beijing, Chengdu, and Guangzhou before entering Wuhan on 22 February 2020.

Bruce Aylward revealed, "The origin of this investigation is actually the request and decision made by the Chinese President during his meeting with Tedros. They feel that China has done a lot of work and should let the world know about China's efforts in containing the outbreak. "

When asked why he did not wear a mask, Bruce replied very positively that he was not infected with the virus  because he had not contacted with any patient and had no direct contact with the doctors who had contacted with the patients. He had never been to the 'dirty areas' of  Wuhan hospitals.

Bruce praised China for its active response to the epidemic, and said that the people of Wuhan have contained the spread of COVID-19 and the world owes the outbreak to Wuhan.

He also produced a graph showing the development of the outbreak in an inverted V shape, indicating that the inflection point of the outbreak has passed and the number of patients has fallen sharply.

Bruce's flattery to the China Communist Party (CCP) even surpassed Xi Jinping's boast. Because the day before he arrived in Wuhan, Xi Jinping made it clear at the meeting of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China that the inflection point of the epidemic had not yet arrived, and the prevention and control situation in Hubei Province and Wuhan was still severe and complicated.

Bruce even said, "If I am infected, I want to get treatment in China. China knows how to protect people's lives."

His remarks have caused public outcries. Some netizens said as a world epidemiologist, Bruce went to China to 'investigate' the epidemic, but did not touch everything directly related to the virus. The results of their 'investigations' are not reliable.

Bruce's words have greatly angered the mainland Chinese people who are suffering. They have cursed and scolded him on the Internet.

Lan Shu, a current affairs commentator in the United States, said, "The WHO expert team visits are to succumb to the CCP ’s obscene power. The CCP sees what they want. It arranges for the team members to go to some areas where the epidemic is not serious, and to say what they want."

Lan Shu remarked, "We must soberly realize that Wuhan has become the centre of world disaster because the CCP deliberately conceals the truth. The WHO deliberately exaggerates the so-called Wuhan's role. It is necessary to thank the whole world for it. We see that the CCP's regime is evil. "

Yang Bin, Vice President of Tsinghua University, said, "Now (China) needs international assistance the most. The WHO is very important, but they are always in the same question as the official news webcast of CCP. Their independence is questioned. There is nothing more than what a government does. This is simply disappointing. "

Since the outbreak in Wuhan, the WHO has been helping the CCP conceal and dilute the outbreak. Even after Wuhan closed the city and a large number of patients died, it also urged all countries not to take preventive measures such as restricting travel to China. "International attention to public health emergencies" ironically turns out to be incredible songs of praise to the CCP despite WHO raising the global risk level of COVID-19 to the highest during the weekend.

Yang Bin, vice president of Tsinghua University, said that WHO's flattering of the CCP and disregard of facts not only made the world lose trust in the WHO, but also lose confidence in a number of international organizations such as the United Nations.

NTDTV host Xiao Ming interpreted the 'investigations' on her video blog, "Actually, Xi Jinping wants to extend the self-proven decision-making process he has done in China to overseas, and then ask the WHO to endorse him directly. For this purpose, the WHO expert team members have no independent investigations to the cause of the outbreak. The inspections are publicity activities arranged, accompanied, and decided by CCP Chinese officials throughout the process. "
