(Wuhan, 8 April 2020) Wuhan, which was once the most severely affected by COVID-19, was unsealed at 12 am on 8 April 3020. Shipping, land and water transportation and other departure routes from Wuhan were closed for 76 days and fully opened.

However, the Chinese media appealed to the public that unblocking does not mean "defense prevention" because zero new cases do not mean "zero internal risks". In some areas, there are new local cases. The number of asymptomatic infections remains to be grasped, and there are local outbreaks. As the number of input cases continues to increase, one cannot be blindly optimistic.

The report quoted the traffic police department as saying that the exit procedures of road toll stations from the early morning can be omitted. The water horses and guard posts set up at the entrance and exit of the highway will be demolished, and the relevant personnel will evacuate orderly. Skeletal police security forces will remain to cope with emergency situations

The report also said that the railway station is the key to prevention and control. Infrared thermometers will be installed at the entrance of the station. People will enter the station with their health codes and ID cards. The station will remind passengers to wear masks, disperse assemblies and separate queues.
