Yahoo! reported on 22 April 2020 that Singapore Airlines’ internal notice showed that of the 16 staff members suffering from covid, two were Singapore Airlines engineering staff working near the airport, and eight of the 16 staff members had recovered and were discharged.

Singapore Airlines confirmed to Lianhe Wanbao that "some employees have been diagnosed" at noon today (23 April 2020), and has taken adequate precautions to ensure the safety of passengers and employees, and the Ministry of Health has confirmed that no flight attendants on duty in the cabin were infected.

The Yahoo! report also stated that internal documents revealed that the flight services of the infected flight attendants include round trips between Singapore and London, Copenhagen, Barcelona, ​​Houston, Manchester, Kuala Lumpur, New York, Sydney, Amsterdam and Munich.

A Singapore Airlines Group spokesperson answered the query at noon and confirmed that “some staff” had been diagnosed with covid since March. Singapore Airlines Group also owns SilkAir and Scoot.

The spokesperson said that the group provides all necessary support for the diagnosed employees, and also implements various preventive measures, including cleaning and disinfecting the engine room, ensuring that flight attendants wear masks, etc., to ensure the safety of passengers and employees.

The spokesperson said that the Ministry of Health had confirmed that no flight attendants were sick while on duty in the cabin and Singapore Airlines is also working closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and the Ministry of Health to implement measures to prevent the spread of the virus, and to report to employees on the progress of confirmed cases and measures at any time.
