On 18 April 2020, Turkey’s number of covid cases increased to 82,329, with 1890 deaths, surpassing Iran as the most serious country in the Middle East.
Turkish Minister of Health Koca said that in the past 24 hours, 3783 people have been infected and 121 people have died. To prevent the epidemic from worsening, 31 cities across the country extended the 15-day travel restriction from last Saturday.
The authorities issued a presidential decree earlier to provide free treatment for patients with covid in public hospitals.. If patients cannot pay national insurance premiums, they can receive complimentary protective equipment, free testing, drugs, etc.
On the other hand, the Iranian epidemic continued to slow down, and 73 more people died in the country, the total rose to 5,031, a new low in more than a month, and a total of 80,868 diagnosed people. The authorities are now allowing merchants in the capital Tehran to reopen.
