Philippine Airlines launched a new crew uniform this week, equipped with disposable latex gloves, masks and surgical masks. It promised to provide social distance seating arrangements for passengers on board.

Philippine Airlines said that during the pandemic, its crew will wear customized personal protective attire.

The uniform designer said that the inspiration came from the surgical gown. Because the crew may need to walk around in the uniform for a long time, the convenience will be considered in the design. The non-porous protective attire is relatively loose and crew find it easy to move. In addition, the stripes on the right shoulder of the uniform match the colours of the Philippine national flag.

Since all international and domestic flights have been cancelled, Philippine Airlines stated that cabin crew will wear these uniforms before boarding evacuation flights.
