Changi Airport during the covid pandemic and how to transfer to and leave Terminal 1

During the covid pandemic, Changi Airport Terminal 2 was closed for upgrading while Terminal 4 has suspended flight operations. As a result, there are no Skytrain services within the airport including the Skytrain services from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 and from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 and vice versa.

The Jewel Changi Airport becomes the only transit destination for walk-in travel between Changi Airport Terminals 3 and 1. How to reach and leave Terminal 1 in this case?

If one enters Changi Airport through Terminal 3, scan the SafeEntry QR code first. Then, walk with luggage along the electric walkway of the link bridge from Terminal 3 to reach Jewel within ten minutes.

Once reaching the artificial waterfall, turn towards the right on the level where Samsonite store is located, walk towards the left. Walk down an escalator, continue to walk until you see an office for Baggage Storage within five minutes.

Continue to walk until you reach the basement that leads to the Terminal 1 departure hall in another two minutes.

At Terminal 1 departure hall, there is no need to scan SafeEntry QR code.

At Terminals 3 and 1, there are two restaurants for food takeaways.

Robots are utilized to clean, disinfect and sanitize the floors of the airport terminals.

There are not many passengers at Terminal 1. All passengers undergo temperature checks before proceeding towards the check-in counters.

Terminal 1 currently serves airlines such as All Nippon Airways, Scoot, Air China, Shandong Airlines, Sichuan Airlines Cathay Pacific, Royal Brunei Airlines, Korean Air and Juneyao Air but Royal Brunei Airlines and Korean Air have not yet resumed passenger flights to Singapore Changi. It is still difficult to shoot snapshots of a Korean Air cargo flight arriving at and departing from the airport.

The entrance/exit that leads directly across the road to the Jewel from Terminal 1 is closed.

To leave Terminal 1, walk back towards the escalator direction to the common basement with Jewel. Walk up to the link bridge that leads to Terminal 2. At the exit of the link bridge to Terminal 2, check-out of Jewel by scanning SafeEntry QR code again.
