According to Beijing's official reports, the newly confirmed covid cases in Beijing in the past two days all have a history of exposure to the Xinfadi seafood wholesale market in Fengtai District. The authorities urgently closed the market and sent armed police to station. It is expected that 10,000 people related to the market will be tested, and 11 nearby communities are closed. Fengtai District also launched a wartime mechanism. However, the notice from Shenyang International Airport shows that Beijing passengers who require compulsory isolation also include residents of Xicheng District and Fangshan District.

The Shenyang party media quoted Shenyang Xiantao International Airport notice that according to the latest measures for epidemic control in Liaoning Province, from 8 pm on 13 June 2020, from Beijing’s Fengtai District, Yuetan Street in Xicheng District, Changyang Town in Fangshan District to Liaoning The personnel mus exercise 14 days of centralized isolation and control measures in Shenyang.

The strict control measures of the Beijing authorities indicate that the epidemic is very serious. However the official reports have so far notified only 7 cases of diagnosis, which have caused public doubt. The Beijing authorities claimed on 13 June 2020 that 45 people are tested positive after pharyngeal swabs near the Xinfadi market and 40 environmental samples of the market are positive. One person is also tested positive in a market in Haidian District.
The China Communist Party’s political pressure forced officials from all over the country to hide the epidemic. Once a region has to continuously announce confirmed cases, it usually means that the outbreak in that region has been out of control.
