Heavy rains in southern China have caused floods in many provinces. But the party media played down the disaster and focused only on the unrest in the United States. According to a video posted online recently, the Longtang Reservoir at the border of Guizhou and Guangxi broke the embankment, and the rapids caused huge waves. The local people helped the old and young, and rushed to the higher terrain.

On 11 June, a video was uploaded on mainland Weibo showing that the crowd was moving in a higher direction, and there was an endless stream of people on the avenue. Most walked, and some people were cycling or driving. One of the cars was full of people on the back cover.

The videographer explained in dialect that the Longtang Reservoir and the power station collapsed, and people all ran up the slope, which was completely flooded here.

Some netizens forwarded the video to overseas Twitter, and attached a complete translation of the video commentary.

There is a translation on Weibo that understands the original words of the video: Longtang Reservoir collapsed, and now the farmers and people on the street are running to Jiazhou. It is really too backward. This time, the reservoir and power station here have collapsed. Now all the people on the street are running up the slope, and all of them are flooded here.

When the video was uploaded on Weibo, some Twitter netizens asked netizens who understand Guangxi dialect to help translate the dialect in the video.

In addition, there was a close-up video of the flooding, which was said to be the embankment of Longtang Reservoir in Guizhou. The picture shows that the rapids rushed down from the mountain, and after meeting the building, it caused a huge wave. Video shooters exclaimed from time to time. The video showed that the local people may not have evacuated in advance due to the sudden flood.

According to public information, Longtang Reservoir is located in Pingtang County, Guizhou Province, located between Nandan County in Guangxi Province and Duyun City in Guizhou Province.

The news about the collapse of the Longtang Reservoir has not been reported by the Chinese Communist Party. It is not yet possible to determine the authenticity of the news.

Party media quoted a new report from the Communist Party of China on 11 June, saying that 148 rivers across the country exceeded the warning level, floods occurred in the Pearl River Basin, and flood disasters occurred in some areas.

However, according to news circulating on the Internet, 11 provinces including Guangxi, Guizhou, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Hunan, and Fujian suffered from severe floods, and even many cities were flooded and streets changed into rivers. The CCP's official media only has a general "number of disasters", no details of the flood. The official TV screens, websites, and newspaper pages are still dominated by American riots and the US epidemic, so that Chinese netizens lamented and wondered whether they lived in China or the United States.
