This Year of the Rat in 2020 is really not an ordinary year! From the end of 2019 to 2020, the entire earth is not flat. From the fire in Australia, to the spread of SARS-CoV-2 in the world, to the cliff-shaped crash of the global economy, all kinds of bad things are wave after wave.

Poem
In the Year of the Rat, the people often died.
Flooding in spring and summer, frequent hunger and thirst in autumn and winter.
The hilly fields are only half, and the late rice cannot be harvest.
Qin Huai Rivers wandering, goods and property loot in the lands of Wu and Chu.
Mulberry leaves are shabby, and silkworms are unhappy.
See the silkworm but not the silk, cut in vain attentively.
Bu Yue
Rats spend their first year in high and low levels.
Looking more into the three winter months, graves mushroom on the top of the hills.
Interpretation
1. Now, four months have passed in 2020. In the first four months, there has been a large-scale epidemic in the world, coupled with abnormal climates around the world and decades of rare locust disasters in Africa. It can be imagined that in 2020 the agricultural harvest in autumn will be very bad, and may lead to a large famine in some regions or even the whole world. This can correspond to "the late rice cannot be harvest" and "frequent hunger and thirst in autumn and winter."
2. Due to the global spread of SARS-CoV-2, the global economy has experienced a steep decline. The number of unemployed people has risen sharply, which may trigger people's protests, which can correspond to the "many deaths of the people" in The Mother Earth.
3. The summer of 2020 is coming. The Mother Earth predicts that natural disasters such as summer floods, waterlogging, flooding disasters, and debris flow landslides in the Qinling and Huaihe Rivers (that is, Shaanxi, Ganning, and Anhui, Jiangsu) will occur frequently.

In the Year of the Cow, a little disease.
The good mulberries of Wu and Yue, The best rice and wheat of Jing and Chu.

The mulberry leaves show, and the silkworms rejoice.
The people gradually took a breather, and the six animals languished.
Bu Yue
Headed by the Xin Chou Cow, highs and lows are pitiful.
Remaining are half of the population, happy mulberry fields.
Interpretation
1. From the end of 2020 to the beginning of 2021, another wave of pandemic will come back. As mentioned above, many people (nearly half of them) will die from the disease, and "Remaining are half of the population."
2. Those who survived will usher in a new era. Agriculture in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River will improve. Rain and water will be sufficient in spring and summer, and crops will grow well.
