The last Hong Kong Governor Patten Kang condemned the Chinese Communist Party for forcibly pushing its "Hong Kong version of the National Security Law" to deceive the international community. The signatory country of the China Joint Declaration, the British government has the moral and legal responsibility to stand up to defend Hong Kong while Rogers, the chairman of the Hong Kong Watch website, made five suggestions for the British government.

The last Hong Kong Governor : The British government has an obligation to defend Hong Kong

The last Hong Kong Governor Patten said on 24 May 2020 that in the process of forcibly pushing the "Hong Kong version of the National Security Law", the CCP not only betrayed the wishes of the people of Hong Kong, but also dispatched its "war wolf" to bully the international community and tried to force the international community Surrender, but the British government has moral, economic and legal obligations to defend Hong Kong.

In an interview with the Times, Patten said that the CCP’s forcible promotion of the “Hong Kong version of the National Security Law” is the CCP ’s new authoritarian policy, betraying the wishes of the Hong Kong people, and once again proving that the international community cannot believe the CCP ’s commitment.

Patten urged the British government to clearly realize that the CCP ’s actions completely destroyed the "British-China Joint Statement" signed under the framework of "One Country, Two Systems", because the "Joint Statement" promises that Hong Kong has its own independent judicial system and enjoys Western society. The same democracy and freedom until 2047.

Patten also believes that as a signatory of the joint declaration, the British government has its moral, economic and legal obligations to defend Hong Kong. He said: "The Chinese (CCP) government is cheating (the international community), it is trying to make everything beneficial to itself, and if you try to point out this problem, its" war wolf "diplomacy will bully you and force you to succumb Because of this, the CCP’s behavior must be stopped, otherwise the world will become very insecure, and free democracy around the world will be turbulent. "

Hong Kong Watch Chairman makes five suggestions

Hong Kong Observation Chairman Rogers (Benedict Rogers) accepted an interview with the London Broadcasting Station (LBC) on May 24. He introduced that the CCP’s strong promotion of the "Hong Kong version of the National Security Law" marks the end of "one country, two systems" and will destroy Hong Kong's Freedom and the way of life of Hong Kong people, the British government should seek the legal advice of the International Court of Justice, and issue a unified voice of protest with the like-minded government, while imposing Magnitsky sanctions and other countermeasures against the Chinese Communist Party and Hong Kong officials who violate human rights in Hong Kong .

According to a report on the Hong Kong Watch website, Rogers said in an interview that Hong Kong people have begun to protest on the streets against the Hong Kong government ’s National Security Act, which is being pushed by the Chinese Communist Party. The following measures should be taken to support the resistance of the people of Hong Kong:

First, as a signatory of the "British-Chinese Joint Statement", the British government should seek legal remedies from the International Criminal Court for violations of the "Joint Statement" by the Chinese Communist Party; Human rights officials impose sanctions on Magnitsky; at the same time, the United Kingdom should help Hong Kong people take refuge, especially those Hong Kong people who hold a British National Overseas Passport (BOP); if the Hong Kong police continue to brutally suppress the protesters in Hong Kong, the British government should Treat this matter as a potential humanitarian crisis and send observers to record and report any violations of human rights principles by the Hong Kong government and the Hong Kong police.

He emphasized that the most important thing is that the British government should establish an international alliance with like-minded governments and lead this international alliance to coordinate the international community ’s policy towards Hong Kong and express a consensus on Hong Kong issues.

Rogers is very concerned about the democratic struggle in Hong Kong. He also has a unique view of the CCP. During the epidemic of SARS-CoV-2, he has always condemned the CCP for suppressing the whistlers in mainland China and arresting them to reveal the truth. Citizen journalists and representatives from China who expelled representative media agencies in the United States, and refused international assistance to conceal the truth of the epidemic, while spreading false news to "wash out" themselves, believing that these actions have seriously harmed the entire world. He has also been reminding Western society that the CCP is part of this whole problem, not a solution.
