The China Communist Party (CCP) media recently issued an article out of context from a Harvard professor's words in an attempt to continue to confuse people and dump the source of SARS-CoV-2 abroad. In a recent interview with the American media, the professor made it clear that he never suspected that SARS-CoV-2 originated in Wuhan, China.

This week, the publication of the CCP's government agency Qiushi continued to try to point the source of the virus outside of China. The article tampered with the comments made by Ashish Jha, director of the Harvard Global Health Institute, in an interview with CNN in April that the United States needs to trace back the cases in January this year and even December 2019 to identify the earliest appearance of SARS-CoV-2. The article attempts to use Jha’s words to prove that “the place where the earliest reported case is not necessarily the place where the virus originated”.

Professor Jha told VOA a few days ago that he never doubted that SARS-CoV-2 originated in China. "It (SARS-CoV-2) is almost certainly from Wuhan. I have no reason to believe other explanations."

He further explained, "What I said at the time was that the first case of coming to the United States from China may be earlier than we thought before. It may have arrived in the United States at the beginning of January, or even (last year) at the end of December ... There are a lot of travels between China and the United States. We think that this virus may have spread in China as early as mid-November. So it is entirely possible that some people will fly to California and the United States by plane in mid-to-November. We may have a small number of cases in December, although I suspect it may be January. "

"But in my opinion, the origin is unquestionable: everything I have seen shows that SARS-CoV-2 is from China and from Wuhan." Professor Jha emphasized.

"As a scientific expert, we should try to understand more about how the virus originated and how to infect humans. But I don't think this is a political action." He thinks, "obviously you need to get blood samples and other types from hospitals in Wuhan. The Chinese Communist Party government must participate and cooperate with them. Otherwise, researchers in other countries will not be able to obtain this information because these samples are all from Chinese people. "

In addition, a large number of one-sided quotes in the "Qiushi" article cited Western reports, saying that "more and more countries have found cases with no history of Chinese exposure and earlier onset", trying to obscure the source of the virus.

For example, the article quotes Massimo Galli, Director of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the Sacco Hospital in Milan, Italy, to compare the virus strains of the pneumonia patients in Italy with 52 covi sequences and mentioned, "The infected patient's virus has no connection with China. It is a new coronavirus that has become popular in Italy. "

The Reuters report on 11 May 2020 has clarified that Gali's team sequenced the virus genes of the CCP in Italy to match those that appeared in Munich, Germany, in January. Gary emphasized that the patient in Munich, Germany was infected through contact with a person with a history of traveling in Shanghai.

The SARS-CoV-2 epidemic broke out in China in January this year. The CCP's concealment of real information caused the outbreak to spread to 188 countries around the world. As of this Friday (22nd), the number of people diagnosed with infections worldwide exceeded 5.16 million and more than 330,000 died. There have been many calls for claims from the CCP, including Russia and dozens of African countries with close relations with the CCP.

The CCP authorities have started public outreach since March, attempting to dump the pot to point the birthplace of SARS-CoV-2 overseas. This move further aroused global resentment against the Chinese Communist Party, in which the US government's call for the Chinese Communist Party to take responsibility was the strongest.

In an interview with Fox News on April 29, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, "The Communist Party of China is now obliged to explain to the world how this pandemic has spread from China to the world and caused damage to the global economy ". The CCP continues to "cover up and confuse. They continue to threaten the world, and we have to find out the facts, not only for the present (epidemic), but also for the future that this kind of thing will not happen again."

In an interview with ABC's "This Week" program on 3 May 2020, Pompeo said, "I can tell you that there is a lot of evidence that this (virus) came from the Wuhan laboratory."

Pompeo also revealed to the media the CCP’s method of covering up the epidemic, "We have seen the fact that they drove the reporters out. We also saw the fact that those who tried to report the matter were Chinese medical professionals. , Be muffled ... everything that these authoritarian regimes do, the way the Communist Party operates, this is a classic false propaganda of communism."
