Fox News broadcast a talk show on 17 April 2020. In that show, Fox’s chief political anchor Bret Baier said that the US government has mastered evidence of  the origin of SARS-CoV-2. Many evidences from the source will be published in a few months' time. Earlier in May 2020, US President Trump also said that he knew the source of the virus and that at a future point in time, he would release a strong investigation report.

Brett Bayer said on the show that the US intelligence service concatenates public and secret information and concludes that they believe the virus came from the laboratory.

He also said that his sources revealed that the US government will release the information within 6 months, but if it is announced prematurely, there will be great resistance because a considerable number of important medical ambulance resources are still under the control of the China Communist Party (CCP).

US Secretary of State Pompeo also said that there is a lot of evidence that the source of SARS-CoV-2 came from the Wuhan virus laboratory, not the Huanan Seafood Market that the CCP previously claimed.

On 25 May 2020, Gao Fu, the Director of the China National Center for Disease Prevention and Control from Wuhan revealed to Hong Kong Phoenix TV that the Wuhan Huanan Seafood Market is the victim unit of novel coronavirus, not the original source of SARS-CoV-2 as the virus is not detected in the animals of the seafood wholesale market. It is detected in environmental samples including sewer wastewater around the market.

On 23 May 2020, Wang Yanyi admitted that the Wuhan P4 laboratory has no live virus sample of RaTG13.  She suggests the human error (Shi Zhengli's error) in the sequencing of the viral genome of SARS-CoV-2.

Wang Yanyi pointed out Shi Zhengli and her team "did not pay attention to such virus which are less similar to SARS. They didn't try to isolate and obtain RaTG13, since its genome is only 79%  similar to SARS. One of them has the highest similarity of 96% to SARS, but their highest similarity to SARS-CoV-2 only reaches 79.8%."

The absence of RaTG13 suggests the higher probability of human intervention in the creation of SARS-CoV-2.

According to several foreign media reports, the Five Eyes Alliance composed of intelligence agencies in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand is also investigating the source of SARS-CoV-2. The two researchers of the Institute, Shi Zhengli and Zhou Peng, are the targets of the Five Eyes Alliance.

The Australian Daily Telegraph stated that an intelligence report from the Five Eyes Alliance indicated that the China Communist Party deliberately spread the virus around the world, suppressing the evidence that the virus can be transmitted from person to person, and muttering the whistling doctors who raised the alarm on the epidemic, deleting reviews and social media news about the outbreak, and worst of all, destroying viral samples that help develop therapeutic drugs or vaccines faster.
