At the routine work meeting of the Mongolian government held today, 20 May 2020, a resolution was adopted on some of the measures to be taken on the issue of Mongolian international airports. According to the resolution, starting from July 1 of this year, the "Buyant Ukhaa" airport, the current Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, will be officially relocated to Khoshig Valley, south of Ulaanbaatar and named the New Chinggis Khaan International Airport, also known formerly as New Ulaanbaatar International Airport (NUBIA).
At the meeting, the country's border inspection department also carried out clearing the matters to be solved and resolved to the Minister of Finance of Mongolia and the head of the National Border Port Committee on the issues such as the financial security required by the national border inspection department to carry out the border inspection at the new airport.

Since both the old and new airports are called Chinggis Khaan International Airport, in order to avoid confusion, Mongolian Geri suggested to distinguish between new and old, or Buyant Ukhaa and Khoshig.
