The China Communist Party(CCP) media People ’s Daily reported on 3 April 2020 that the Institut Pasteur’s press release on 28 April 2020 indicated that a study of the Institute’s “Trace Analysis of Imported and Early Viruses in France” showed that The French outbreak was caused by a virus strain of unknown origin circulating locally. And said that this research result has been published in the pre-published form recently in the American Biological Papers Archives Network.

On 4 April, China.com published another English version, directly accusing the Pasteur Institute that the outbreak in France was not caused by cases imported from the People's Republic of China.

Radio Free Asia reported on 4 April that the reporter of the station had reviewed papers pre-stored by the scientists of the Pasteur Institute in the BioRxiv bioscience online repository established by the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in the United States on 24 April 2020.

The paper concludes that the first batch of European case samples IDF0372 and IDF0373 on January 24, 2020 came from Ile-de-France and were imported directly from Hubei, China; in addition, IDF0515 corresponds to passengers from Hubei, China.

People's Daily tampered with Etienne Simon-Lorière (pictured right), head of the evolutionary genomics of the ribonucleic acid virus at the Pasteur Institute, denying that the virus originated in China. The paper stated that the first European cases sampled on 24 January 2020 came from Ile-de-France and were imported directly from Hubei, China. In addition, the news published by the Pasteur Institute on 28 April 2020 wrote that these genomic data show that in many regions of France, the main circulation of viruses from the same clan in the same clan is compatible with multiple introduced viruses. The earliest sequence of this lineage, starting from 19 February 2020, corresponds to a case with no history of travel, which means that the virus circulated silently before the wave of COVID-19 cases.

French commentator Wang Longmeng told the radio station, "It is very obvious that the People's Daily and other CCP official media have severely altered the published papers and news content of the Pasteur Institute, completely distorting the original intention of the French article. "

He said that he was contacting the relevant person in charge of the Pasteur Institute, hoping that they would see the CCP ’s textbook-style skills of dumping pots, and that these scientists would come forward to make explanations so as not to damage their reputation by the CCP.

He pointed out that in fact, the investigation results of the Five Eyes Alliance countries are already coming out, and the CCP authorities are really in a hurry. So he does not hesitate to use these methods to completely reverse the black and white to cover up the truth of the virus source. He called on the international community to continue to investigate and sanction the CCP.

French scholar Marni Dubois pointed out to the station that the Pasteur Institute pointed out that symptomatic imported cases were well isolated and controlled in France, and those with asymptomatic infections led to large-scale spread, but this does not mean that the Institute has denied that the virus originated in China.

She expressed her anger at the CCP ’s official media for creating very deceptive content, shirking responsibility of the outbreak to France and called on the French government to ask China (the CCP) to disclose the truth and accountability.

The CCP authorities had falsely quoted the comments of Italian scholars earlier, and blamed the source of the virus on Italy. As a result, they were severely refuted by Italian scholars.
