SARS-CoV-2 outbreak in Wuhan on 6 May 2020, more than 100 quarantined

On 6 May 2020, more than 100 people were arrested and segregated due to a sudden SARS-CoV-2 outbreak in Sanmin Community, Changqing Street, Dongxihu District, Wuhan, Hubei.  The entire community was closed again and isolated for 14 days. It is reported that on 6 May, a 76-year-old man in Sanmin District was diagnosed positive, but he was not recognized by the authorities.

A video released by a Wuhan netizens shows that in the evening of 6 May, a bus was parked on the roadside. Many policemen or medical personnel wearing protective clothing brought the residents living in Sanmin Community of Changqing Street one by one and sent them to the bus. They were pulled away to isolate. It is reported that more than 100 people were taken away that night.

A woman in the video said, "See, these is all towed out for isolation. So many people with their own luggage, both young and old, so cruel! They are all on the bus. "


On May 6, the Sanmin Community of Changqing Street in Wuhan issued an announcement that a 76-year-old man living in this community was found to have double lung infection and a positive nucleic acid test. The authorities announced that the Sanmin community was immediately closed and isolated for 14 days. That night, more than 100 people were taken away and quarantined.

The elderly man was diagnosed in the Infectious Disease Department of the People's Hospital of Dongxihu District. However, the authorities did not recognize it as a covid case, but only "viral pneumonia."
