The anti-SARS medicine Lianhua Qingwen Capsule is expected to be launched in the Singapore traditional Chinese medicine market in late May 2020.

Zhong Nanshan recently stated that Lianhua Qingwen Capsule has a repairing effect on cell damage and inflammation caused by coronary disease. At present, this medicine has been successfully registered as a Chinese patent medicine in China's Health Science Bureau.

Zhong Nanshan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, recently pointed out that the Chinese medicine Lianhua Qingwen had a certain effect on the treatment of covid. Zhong Nanshan introduced during an online exchange with a group of overseas Chinese students that the experiment found that although Lianhua Qingwen Capsule has a weak effect on virus suppression, it has a good repair effect on cell damage and inflammation caused by SARS-CoV-2.

In addition, Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., which produces Lianhua Qingwen Capsule, also publicly said on 6 May 2020 that this medicine has been officially approved by Singapore.

A search on the official website of Health Sciences Authority and found that this "LIANHUA QINGWEN JIAONANG (Lianhua Qingwen Capsule)" has indeed been successfully registered as a Chinese patent medicine. The local general sales agency responsible for  importing and marketing the medicine is Qingfeng Private Limited.

According to the product introduction of Lianhua Qingwen Capsule, this Chinese patent medicine can be used to treat cold, fever, cough and other symptoms.

The Health Sciences Authority of Singapore reminded the public on the website that there is currently no evidence that any health products or Chinese herbal medicines, etc., can specifically treat covid or have the effect on treatment or improve immunity.

It is reported that Lianhua Qingwen Capsule has a certain effect of clearing away heat and detoxification, and the current clinical research in the People's Republic of China seems to have a certain effect on covid. However, the fact that one side supports the other is suitable for situations in the People's Republic of China does not necessarily mean that it is suitable for Singapore.

Chinese medicine has not yet obtained permission to enter the epidemic areas of Singapore for usage in order to understand the actual response of patients to the anti-covid medicine. Now relevant plans have been drawn up, awaiting government approval to do so.

As for the appropriate conditions for taking this medicine, Chinese physicians said that if a person is not sick, refrain from taking the medicine. Even if a person is sick, he should consult a doctor for proper diagnosis and let the doctor decide which medicine is safer.
