SARS-CoV-2 has scourged the world and triggered a wave of global blame on the China Communist Party (CCP) for the covid pandemic. Recently, an open letter from Xi Jinping's "brother" was posted on Twitter, stating that they may be forms of freedom, political and judicial reforms by the CCP and the virus leaked  from the P4 laboratory of the Wuhan Institute of Viology not only caused a public health crisis, but also brought diplomatic risks.

On 1 May 2020, the dissident writer "Laodeng" posted on Twitter an open letter allegedly issued by Xi Jinping's brother Xi Yuanping.

Whether the open letter is currently in the hands of Xi Yuanping or written by him has not been confirmed.

"Laodeng" tweeted, "I can't tell whether this letter is true or not, and I publish it for your reference."

The letter stated that some people were engaged in high-level criminal activities against Xi Jinping, and pointed out that some people in the CCP's political and legal system have recently fallen. It emphasized after the epidemic hit the Chinese economy, the authorities would successively initiate political reforms, including freedom of press and public speeches, popular elections in cities and counties, and judicial independence.

Li Yuanhua, a former associate professor at Beijing Capital Normal University and an expert in Chinese history, told Voice of Hope that no one can have any hope for the CCP. The only way out is to disintegrate it. After the disintegration, just like other societies, it is a normal society. Relatively speaking, each country has a relatively complete political system, including democracy, legal system, universal values, and so on but as long as the CCP exists, these are simply impossible.

The letter posted by "Laodeng" on Twitter also specifically mentioned that the virus leaked from the Wuhan P4 laboratory not only caused a public health crisis but also brought diplomatic risks.

There is no doubt that the virus epidemic spread from China to the world has indeed caused a huge impact on the CCP authorities.

According to reports, about 10,000 citizens from 40 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, filed a class action lawsuit against the CCP government to hold them accountable for late response to the virus epidemic. They have demanded compensation for the economic losses and sky-high prices of anti-pandemic materials.

Although the CCP officially denied that the virus originated in China, the Office of the Chief of National Intelligence (ODNI) issued a statement on 30 April, which officially concluded that the  virus originated in China.

The statement also pointed out that SARS-CoV-2 is not artificial or genetically modified, but does not rule out the possibility that the virus leaked from the Wuhan laboratory.

Trump also publicly stated at the White House Epidemic Press Conference on 30 April that he had personally seen evidence that the CCP virus may come from the P4 laboratory of  WIV but said he was not allowed to disclose details.

Wuhan P4 laboratory is famous all over the world for studying the relationship between bat coronaviruses and infectious diseases.

Trump said there are several accounts of the origin of the virus. American scientists and intelligence agencies are investigating and will soon find out how the virus broke out. Many arguments are currently directed to the Wuhan laboratory.

He also said that the CCP either was incompetent or deliberately did not stop, causing the virus to spread around the world. He criticized the World Health Organization as a propaganda agency of the Chinese Communist Party should be ashamed of this.

Trump emphasized that the CCP must be condemned for the pandemic, and said that the United States can adopt different methods, such as raising tariffs, to hold the CCP accountable.

In an interview with Fox News on 29 April 2020, US Secretary of State Pompeo also said, "The United States will hold the CCP responsible."

Pompeo said, "That's what the Communist Party did (lying), and the Chinese people were also victimized by it. We know that Chinese journalists and whistling doctors have been silenced. These Communist Party tricks were known to us from the Soviet Union to control the information at home and globally."

Pompeo said, "They (the Communist Party) continue to threaten the world, and we want to find out the facts, not only for the current (epidemic), but also for the future that this kind of thing will not happen again."

Because Pompeo repeatedly called for investigations into the source of the virus, he was violently attacked by the CCP authorities. State-owned CCTV launched a Cultural Revolution-style insult on Pompeo for several days. Some commentators ridiculed that it seems that the CCP is really pressurized.

Xi Yuanping is Xi Jinping's younger brother. He was born in November 1956 in Shanxi Fuping County. The second son of the CCP veteran Xi Zhongxun and Qi Xin, Yuanping is currently the president of the International Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Association. He has a huge social circle of friends in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. After Jinping became the leader of CCP, Yuanping moved back to Beijing with his mother and lives carefully in a simple place.
