COVID-19 epidemic is still raging and the swine fever epidemic in Africa has not weakened. Hubei Province has recently reported the death of seven wild boars. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the Communist Party of China announced that a total of seven dead wild boars were found in the Shennongjia forest area and were confirmed to be African swine fever by the Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center of Hubei Province.

The Communist Party of China ’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued a statement in the evening of 3 February 2020, stating that the swine fever epidemic in Africa has once again occurred in Hubei. They received reports from the Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center of the Communist Party of China that seven dead wild boars were found in Yangri Town and Songbai Town, Shennongjia Forest District, and were confirmed by the Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center of Hubei Province.

There is currently no cure or vaccine for African swine fever. When the epidemic spread in mainland China in August 2018, the China Communist Party officially called the epidemic "overall controllable." However, the epidemic eventually spread to all provinces and regions in China, bringing devastation to the Chinese pig industry. It also crosses borders and arrives in Cambodia, Mongolia and Vietnam.

In addition to the swine fever epidemic, it is now at the peak of the outbreak of pneumonia in Wuhan. At the same time, highly pathogenic bird flu outbreaks also occurred in Sichuan and Hunan.

The Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the Communist Party of China reported that the National Avian Influenza Reference Laboratory confirmed that there was a H5N6 subtype highly pathogenic bird flu outbreak on 9 February  in a farm in Xichong County, Nanchong, Sichuan Province. A total of 2497 poultry were raised on the farm with 1,840 deaths and 70% bird mortality. Authorities have urgently killed 2,261 poultry.

The report stated that, confirmed by the National Avian Influenza Reference Laboratory, an H5N1 subtype highly pathogenic bird flu outbreak occurred in broiler chickens raised by a farmer in Shuangqing District, Shaoyang. The farmer kept 7,850 broiler chickens, and 4500 died of illness. After the incident, 17,828 poultry were culled in the area.
